Positive: Location is excellent especially for a several day stay. Crepier next door hours 1400 to 1900 hrs., Boulanger across square. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as is a KFC🙃 if you like to shop this looks to be excellent spot. My stay was too short to take advantage. Friendly reminder to US travelers first floor is up 1 level in older renovated building. Keep the luggage light.

Positive: The flat is located downtown, in the pedestrian area, close to the Castle and le boulevard de Pyrinee, small shops and restaurants & pubs & coffee shops. Clean, comfortable. For the price you pay, one gets free parking at the Verdun Parking, but first one has pick up the access card from the flat. Espresso machine and caps, small snack provided.
Negative: And here it goes: we have been instructed that we can park in front of the building, unload our luggage, pick up the parking card. Well, first you cannot get into the pedestrian area, means you have to carry your heavy luggage on cobblestone streets for about 200 m , if you stop in front of the St Martin's church. It works for younger people with light luggage maybe. Then you have to drive 3 min to the parking and walk 15 min back. That is info provided by the owner. In fact it takes all in all 30 min, because there are a lot of one way and pedestrian streets that even the Navy system or google maps does not recognize. The day of departure, the same story, walk to the parking, drive back...all in all we've lost 1 hour with parking. Even freely offered, there are better solutions closer (even covered parkings). But probably more expensive. The staircase of the building is also very narrow and some stairs are not even. Not a problem for young people.

Positive: Location was very central on a busy street so was a bit noisy when revellers were leaving nightclubs at 2am.Kitchen was very modern and well equipped and the living area was a good size.No air conditioning but a large fan was provided.The car park was approximately a 7 minute walk away and was very cheap and huge but very busy.
Negative: Quite difficult to find as lots of roads were blocked off and we were unable to unload our luggage outside.Unfortunately our instructions for the property were sent in French so we struggled to understand and without the help of a lovely lady from the ice cream shop next door I don’t think we would have managed.We were expecting a key to have been left at a cafe but it was shut and it turned out to be a door code.Then when we were finally in we didn’t know how to get out and lock the door as we had never used a door locking system before.We eventually managed to contact someone by text as they could not speak English and worked out how to do it.All in all a very stressful start to our break.The bed was also uncomfortable with poor quality bedding and tatty towels.

Positive: Great location. Good facilities. Smart and up to date.
Negative: No air conditioning, so very noisy at night with the windows open. Sheet had a hole in it and towel smelt damp.
Summary: Lovely flat in the centre of Pau. Just remember that there is no air conditioning so it may be hot in the summer.
